Story of the Holika Dahan

There is a story related to Holi festival according to which there was a demon king named Hiranyakashyap in a city. He used to ask everyone to do his worship, but his son Prahlada was a worshiper of Lord Vishnu and chanted the name Rama. When Hiranyakashyap called and asked not to chant Ram's name, Prahlada said, Only God can save everyone from suffering. If a devotee does some spiritual practice and gets some power from God, then he becomes better than ordinary people, but cannot be better than God.
Hearing this from the devotee Prahlada, the haughty Hiranyakashyap turned red with anger and asked the servants-soldiers to take it from before my eyes and put it in snakes in the forest. It will die due to the bite of the snake. This is how it was done. But Prahlada was not dead, the snakes did not bite.
Then Prahlada's aunt Holika, with the orders of her brother Hiranyakashyap, sat on the pyre with Prahlada on the pyre. Holika had a coverlet. If it enters the fire after covering it, it did not burn. By covering that sheet, She covered herself completely and made Prahlada sit in the laps out of it. Said, son! See, I am also sitting. Nothing will happen to you. A fire was set. God drove the cold wind. A sharp windstorm came.
Holika burnt to ashes. The devotee did not get hurt. Prahlada's faith kept growing. Eighty-four such sufferings were given to the devotee, but God, seeing the faith of the devotee, pleased with his perseverance and influenced by his husband's religion, helped in every crisis. Since then, the tradition of Holika Dahan has started, which people are celebrating till date
